Special Issue on “Supramolecular Chemistry”

f:id:hatekun815:20130318153243p:plain

Compared with traditional chemistry, the remarkable features of modern chemistry are research approaches being developed from macroscopic into microscopic scale, from static into dynamic state, from individual and detailed studying into interpenetrative and interconnected studying, and from arrangement of atoms in the molecule into interactions between molecules. In one sense, supramolecular chemistry weakened the distinctions among the organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biochemistry and material chemistry, but emphasized supramolecular systems with specific structures and functions. It integrated the four basic subjects of organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry and physical chemistry as a whole, opened a new way for the development of molecular devices, materials science and life science.

In this special issue for the journal of Advances in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, we welcome investigators to contribute original research articles, review articles as well as communications related to the recent advances in the fields and sub-disciplines of supramolecular chemistry.

Keywords

  • Molecular recognition and complexation
  • Molecular self-assembly
  • Molecular imprinting
  • Multivalent interactions

Special Issue on The Components of Our Galaxy

f:id:hatekun815:20130312150226p:plain

A galaxy is a massive, gravitationally bound system consisting of stars, stellar remnants, an interstellar medium of gas and dust, and, it is hypothesized, an important but poorly understood component called dark matter.

Galaxies contain varying numbers of star systems, star clusters and types of interstellar clouds. In between these objects is a sparse interstellar medium of gas, dust, and cosmic rays. Dark matter appears to account for around 90% of the mass of most galaxies. Observational data suggests that supermassive black holes may exist at the center of many, if not all, galaxies. They are thought to be the primary driver of active galactic nuclei found at the core of some galaxies. The Milky Way galaxy appears to harbor at least one such object.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring The Components of Our Galaxy.

Authors should read over the journal’s Author’s Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Paper Submission System.

Special Issue on “RNA”

f:id:hatekun815:20130312145344p:plain

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is one of the three major biological macromolecules that are essential for all known forms of life (along with DNA and proteins). For many years RNA was believed to have only three major roles in the cell–as a DNA photocopy, as a coupler between the genetic code and the protein building blocks, and as a structural component of ribosomes. In recent years, however, we have begun to realize that the roles adopted by RNA are much broader and much more interesting. For example, RNA can also act as enzymes (called ribozymes) to speed chemical reactions. RNA also plays an important role in regulating cellular processes–from cell division, differentiation and growth to cell aging and death. Defects in certain RNAs or the regulation of RNAs have been implicated in a number of important human diseases, including heart disease, some cancers, stroke and many others.

Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology
is pleased to present a Special Issue focusing on the “RNA-centered” science and covering a broad range of subjects in RNA research. Original research articles, review articles as well as communications related to the recent progress in RNA are welcome to be submitted. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:

Messenger RNA (mRNA) structure, function and biogenesis

• Transfer RNA (tRNA) structure, function, biogenesis and identity

• Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) structure, function and biogenesis

• Small nuclear RNA (snRNA) structure, function and biogenesis

RNA editing, catalysis, transport and localization

Structural analysis by biochemical or biophysical means

Alternative processing: cis-acting elements and trans-acting factors

Ribosome structure and function

Viral RNA metabolism

RNA stability, turnover and translational control

RNA chemistry and in vitro evolution

Special Issue on Gene Therapy

f:id:hatekun815:20130311144501p:plain

Gene Therapy has emerged as a promising method to cure genetic diseases or at least improve the status of patients. If the idea of replacing anabnormal” dysfunctional gene by its “normal” functional counterpart may look simple, technical difficulties are often encountered such as the stable and targeted insertion of the therapeutic gene into the host genome.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Gene Therapy.

Authors should read over the journal’s Author Guidelines carefully before submission,Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Paper Submission System.

Advanced Research in Food Safety

f:id:hatekun815:20130311143238p:plain

Food Safety is a scientific discipline describing handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent foodborne illness. This includes a number of routines that should be followed to avoid potentially severe health hazards.

Food can transmit disease from person to person as well as serve as a growth medium for bacteria that can cause food poisoning. In developed countries there are intricate standards for food preparation, whereas in lesser developed countries the main issue is simply the availability of adequate safe water, which is usually a critical item. In theory food poisoning is 100% preventable.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Food safety.

Authors should read over the journal’s Author Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that theSpecial Issue’’ under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special issue on- Food safety ” should be chosen during your submission.
